Gun killings in Zamboanga
This time we are tasked to create a info graphics about a certain organization, groups, or anything that would give information. Our group chose to create a info graphics about the gun killings here in Zamboanga. We would show facts that we have collected and statistics of the killings that happened in the city.
Right above is a link of our recorded narration to be used for the info graphics. We got the facts from a friend who has connection to the local police who have information that happens in the city. I hard to find a good recording environment so noises can be heard in the recording. This piece needs more enhancement by editing.
I hope that this product would reach out to people and to be informative to everybody and of course to be a tool motivate others to help stop killings here in Zamboanga.

Blogging Assignment #5: Foley Making Activity
Foley (Earl Dalaguit Productions)
In the process of making the Foley, I experience a bit of hardship. I realized that being an Foley artist is not an easy job. Its takes skills to be a good Foley artist. Creativity and good hearing is a must in this field. But aside from the hardship, it was fun to do a Foley. Especially when we watched our finished product, it sounded quite real for the movie and it fitted in.
We dubbed some of the lines in the movie. It was difficult especially in copying the actors accent and the speed on how they say the words. It took us many rounds to be able to perfect the lines.
The sound effects was really fun to do. Its amazing that some materials can give realistic sounds of other things. Its like bringing back our childhood like using kitchen utensils for portraying a sword fight, stomping our feet to make heavy footstep sound of horses and soldiers, etc. Syncing the sounds are very important in this matter for the film not to look funny. Editing the sounds also played an important role to be able to give depth to the sounds. With that, the sounds seemed to have more flavor and be realistic also.
Overall, being a Foley artist for a short time is a fun an a pretty cool good job to have.

Blogging Assignment #3: Audio Drama Review
The audio drama did great in terms of its sound design. The different sounds used was very nice and would give the listeners a feel of the environment. The voices are appropriate for each role in the drama. The sound effects are very effective in allowing the listeners to understand a current action or situation. A good quality of sound was used which is a big impact for the beauty of the sound design in this audio drama. Even the emotions in the story could be felt by the listeners because of great effort put on the creation of the sound design.
The voice acting was pretty impressive. The voice actors' voices suited their specific roles. Even the narrator did well in telling the story. The rhyming of words took a good effect for me because it gives a sense of childhood for me. Like the nursery rhymes we hear since we were all young, I think this audio drama would be a very good audio material for children. The rhyming was done nicely that makes it fun to hear. It also made me to try to guess the words that would be used to rhyme in every line which means that it greatly caught my attention. This insight might be also applicable to other listeners. The voices where nice that it would match the characters that they portray. The voices played a great factor in this piece because it made it fun to hear each role in the story.
The story-telling of the piece was something that was very relaxing for me. It was done nicely and most especially smoothly. Each words were expressed with feeling that even the piece was just in audio form, I could imagine in my mind how it is being animated because of how the narrator tells the story. It feels good to hear stuffs like this piece that it makes me remember my grandma telling me stories when I was a child. She tells the stories with feelings and with different voices which makes the story more interesting, exciting and the most important, it becomes understandable. In this audio drama it felt like a nice story-telling session.

Blogging Assignment #2
We were asked to make a 3 soundscape. It was categorized to be indoor, outdoor man-made, and outdoor natural. The video link above would show the finished product I created.
For my indoor soundscape i chose to make a soundscape of a room. In the instructions given, we could record or download sounds that would relate on the soundscape we would like to make. But for thus one, I personally recorded the sounds used. In recording the sounds I used a sony digital camera since it was the only tool available for me to record sounds. The door sound was the door from our house. Almost everything was recorded in our house like the electricfan sound was recorded from the fan in my room, the switch and computer in our living room.
For the second one, it is a soundscape of a normal street in the Philippines. I recorded the street ambiance in the street where i usually spend time. I thought that place would give the perfect sound for a street ambiance. With my camera as a recorder, I was able to record even the sound of vehicles, people passing and children voices. I even asked my father to do the balut vendor voice which he agreed to do for this assignment. For this one, I downloaded some audio sound effects in the internet to make the soundscape more realistic. I downloaded car sounds.
For the third soundscape I choose to make a river soundscape. I personally recorded the bird sounds and the river sound. I recorded the sounds at Pasonanca park, Zamboanga City. It is a perfect place for this soundscape. Rivers are nearby and there is a aviary for the bird sounds. I recorded also a sound of a insect that makes a very loud thin sound that can be heard in forests that gives this soundscape more realistic.
It is my first time to make a soundscape although it i hear a lot of soundscapes before. It was fun making one and it was also an opportunity for me to go around and this time not just to see but to hear. It also made me realize the importance of the sound in our surroundings. It gives the flavor of the environment and it gives life to a place. A tiny sound or any noise place a role in making a place to what it must be. I never realized that I would be able to realize this things by this simple assignment.
